A stronger team made the trip over to Preston on Saturday 21st May to compete in the YDL Lower. The day started badly with a torrential downpour but once we were all well and truly soaked the weather cleared up and alloed some great athletics performances.
The team saved the best to last with both the boys and girls going for club records in the 4 x 300m relay. The girls team of Natasha Stephenson, Lucy Giles, Tegan Hewitt and Hannah Scarborough smashed the record with 2 mins 58.1 secs, while the boys were just outside their record recording the 4th best time by a Gateshead 4 x 300m boys relay team.
