A full and busy weekend with the last Harrier League and the last of the National Indoor Championships.  

It was a very successful season on the cross country with the teams finishing high up in all the divisions:

U13 girls – 1st;    U13 boys – 1st

U15 girls – 1st;    U15 boys – 4th

U17 /U20 women – 1st;    U17 men – 3rd

Senior Women – 2nd;    Senior Men 4th – both teams in Division 1

Congratulations to the many athletes who turned out over the course of the season, but particularly to the individual Grand Prix winners – Grace Varley (2nd), Natasha Stephenson (3rd), Elisha Tait (2nd) and Conrad Franks (1st).

Meanwhile in the indoor multi event national championships in Sheffield on Sunday it was the turn of our U15 boys and girls to shine:

Following some up and down performances. Joe Halpin took Silver in the U15 boys pentathlon and Gold for the Northern Championship and Sam Bradley took the Northern Silver, finishing 6th overall. Oliver Herring was 4th in the Northerns and 11th overall. Meanwhile there were 47 competitors in the U15 girls with Emma Scarborough finishing top of the Gateshead competitors in 17th position (8th Northern), Amelia Bateman 23rd (11th Northern), Lily Pearce 26th (13th Northern) and Lauren Beales 36th (18th Northern). Some great individual performances and pbs along the way.
