Northern Cross Country Relays – 22nd October

The club fielded 4 teams in the Northern Cross Country Relays at Sheffield on 22 October. Over a testing course, our results were as follows:

• The under 11 Boys team of Luca Shaw, William Wells and Noah Curran did extremely well to finish 8^th in their non championship race, 1st North East team home.
• The under 13 Boys team of David Race, Liam Eastaugh and Ethan McGlen improved upon their 4^th finish in the recent road relays to take medals in 3^rd position. Ethan and David were joint 8^th fastest overall.
• Ines Curran ran the first leg of the under 13 girls race and finished in 4^th – unfortunately there was no team to build upon her excellent run. Ines was 9^th fastest overall.
• In the under 15 Girls, the A team of Grace Varley, Chloe Wellings and Lottie Tickner battled hard to finish 23^rd in a very competitive race.  They were the 3rd North East team to finish and the B team of Amy Baker, Eve Dixon and Trudie McCarthy finished 36^th overall.

Everybody was delighted to see the under 13 Boys win their medals. It was also a new experience and higher level of competition for many of our runners so well done to all of them! Thanks also to parents for getting the athletes to Sheffield.
