The 3rd in the Harrier League fixture took place on Saturday 26th November at Thornley Hall Farm – Peterlee, the course turned out to be very hard and testing conditions, but the club was well represented in all Male and Female races on the day.

The popular U/11 Races saw William Wells, Oliver Ezeoke and Sonny Lewins our first 3 runners in the Boys event with Phoebe Hall flying the flag in the Girls race.

Our U/13 Boys Team finished in 7th position with David Race, who ran from the Fast Pack, finishing in a very creditable 8th place and 4th fastest overall, he was backed up well by Liam Easthaugh and Jack Garrett as the other Team counters. This team is now lying 5th in the league.

The U/13 Girls Team repeated what the Boys achieved by finishing 7th with a really good run by Ines Curran running from the Fast Pack and crossing the line in 4th position (3rd fastest of the day) and she was well supported by Ava Taperall and Willow Morris as Team scorers. The team is currently 4th in the league.

With a great run by Arun Summerfield which saw him win the U/15,s Boys race and Harry Morris came through well from the Fast Pack to finish 19th position. Unfortunately there was no 3rd team scorer so the team are in 7th place.

Another 7th Team finish from the U/15 Girls saw Chloe Wellings working her way through the field from the Fast Pack to eventually finish 13th with Amy Baker and Eve Dixon the other Team counters. This result puts the girl in 4th place in the league.

James Morris who ran from the Fast Pack in really bad conditions came through tremendously well to cross the line in 10th position and led the U/17,s Team to a very creditable 4th place, with Alex Haddon and Luke Edgar supporting him well. A 3rd placing in the league puts the boys in with a great chance of a top 3 finish at the end of the season.

Our U/17-20,s Women’s Team had a great win, with Isobel Chaudhry winner of the race running from the Medium Pack and with the club having 5 runners in the top 14 places it was a comfortable team win, with Jessica Leslie and Lucy Cottee the team scorers, backed up by Nicole McIlvaney, Elisha Tait, Rebecca Browne, Mya Crowder and Lucy Surtees. Currently this team is lying 4th in the league.

The Senior Ladies continued the success by winning their Team Race and Mary Ferrier having 3rd fastest time of the day finishing in 4th place with Sophie Wickham Lisa Atkinson and the ever present Maggie Lorraine being the other Team counters. This result puts the ladies in 2nd place in Division 1.

In the senior men’s race XC stalwart Conrad Franks once again picked his way through from the fast pack to 11th place (3rd fastest male overall). Peter Grimoldby was 2nd counter on his Harrier League debut in 42nd place, with fast pack Kevin Connolly coming home one place behind. These were followed by Paul Waller (medium pack), Phil McKeown (slow pack) and Steven Medd (fast pack) as the remainder of the counters. Backed well by the non-counting athletes, the men finished 6th overall on the day, putting them in 3rd place after three fixtures, level on points with 2nd place.
