“We apologise for the inconvenience of closing the Academy, and we thank you for your understanding. As the Bupa Great North Run prepares for its millionth finish – a world first, we are working with a large group of volunteer performers who will be taking part in a spectacular Opening Ceremony on 4th September, that celebrates the run and its sporting heritage. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate a brilliant achievement, so thank you for your understanding over this period.”
